A: CT colonography colorectal cancer screening in high-risk individuals such as hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer, ulcerative colitis, or Crohn colitis is usually not appropriate. Optical colonography should be performed in this patient population as this allows for biopsy.

F: Incidental extracolonic malignancies and aortic aneurysms are detected in approximately 2–3% of patients during CTC. Structured reporting may facilitate accurate identification of these findings.

E: Verbal communication and discussion of any relevant study limitations during CTC or barium enema is important in order to assess the sensitivity of the examination performed and need for any further diagnostic workup.
